Well Grandpa Clyde likes to sleep in the bathtub...so Connor thought he'd give it a try!
Also was a stalling techinique bc he never wants to get out of the tub!

As with any deployment or lengthy training...inevitably something big goes wrong...for me...it's small and grey
So...as I turned on the light in our bathroom...I see a flash of grey run into the linen closet...presumably a mouse but it was so fast and really didn't get a great look at it...so fast that I almost thought it was my mind playing tricks on me. So with a deep breath...I hurry into the kitchen where there are plentiful mouse traps still in play...
and as I turn on the kitchen light...a lizard runs across the floor...really?! Why is mother nature taunting me tonight!
So I take 3 sticky traps with me and line them across the bottom crack of the linen closet door...and then I turned off the light, shut the door and really hoped I would find nothing. Why couldn't it have just been my imagination, really!?
Without completely thinking and just a few short minutes later...I went back into my bathroom for something...and bam...there's a mouse crying and squeaking on the trap...so now I feel like a horrible person for this little mouse to die a slow death...and the crying and squeaking of this little mouse is so sad that it's really disturbing me.
Which now brings me to sleep...really not sure that sleep will happen tonight!

Scott is off to NTC (National Training Center) at Ft. Irwin, CA until early April...Connor was a little sad but was good about it...
especially bc he got a prize from the prize box when we got home...a little dinosaur :)

Connor and I hiked around Ka 'ena Point....yes, you heard it right...I went on a hike all in search of more humpback whales!
And I saw a spout and 2 jumps...Connor missed it bc it happened pretty fast as we were walking...but I was glad to see it! Now if I could just teach him a little patience...he might have seen some : )
Connor has been more interested in getthing himself dressed over the past few days...he came out asking for help to put the tie on his t-shirt!
so that he could be the Dad of his animals!!! Very entertaining!

Dress up...Connor will put on random things...he told me here he was a Sunshine Fighting Soldier...hence the sunglasses...
really need to get him some costume stuff in a trunk that he can play with...not that he needs too much help bc he sure has an active imagination!
A traditional Lion Dance in celebration of Chinese New Year...this was an awesome show at the mall today!
At the end...the lions dance around and people give the lion money for good luck!
Scott went to school to read a book in celebration of Connor's 1/2 birthday...since he's an August birthday and won't normally be in school!
Scott read "How Do Dinosaurs Go To School" and Connor held the little matching dino that Auntie Bean sent to him for Christmas

Funny Connor story from this morning:
So, Connor tells me, "Mommy, if you are good today, your can buy yourself a present tomorrow. But if you yell at me and tell me I'm naughty...then absolutely not!"
It was so funny...so I guess when we think he's not listening to what we say...he sure is! Bc I think we had this discussion last week! He gets smiley face stickers for good behavior...and sad faces for negative behavior...and if he gets 5 smiley faces in one day...he can pick a prize from the prize box...but if he has sad faces...I am pretty sure I told him, absolutely not!!!
