Big news!!! Connor scored his first goal in soccer!!! Here's a pic Scott just sent of him playing goalie earlier...but I am so bummed that I missed him making his first goal!

| First soccer game of 2011...we didn't plan for soccer this year bc we thought we'd be off island or traveling since Scott is on block leave...but with my surgery keeping us here...I kept trying to get Connor into soccer and was told it was too late by the registration office...after a few more attempts calling Youth Sports on Thursday...found out that there was space and they needed help bc there was a team with not enough players...so he's not had any practice yet...goes to the game today after not playing in a year....and scores a goal! I am going to say he might like soccer more this year...he might have a better attention span! Although, last night, he told me baseball was his favorite sport which makes me very happy! |
Dare I say, for a mini-van, it's kind of cute?! Of all the mini-vans on the market, we choose to go with the cadillac of vans...and got the Honda Odyssey...while we never in a million years thought we'd be a mini-van family...just in 2 days, we can see the benefits already. Connor wanted to go for a long ride so he could watch a movie...I can't drive still, but I was just testing out the drivers seat for fun : )

I thought we had a major food break through! My dad has made pototo pancakes for years...he learned it from his parents...and it's by far one of my favorites. Connor has never liked potatoes unless it's a french fry...but within the past year, he's started eating hashbrown rounds and roasted potatoes if crispy...so Clyde made a few of the potato pancakes smaller...and we told Connor they were hashbrowns. He initially said he loved them...but then on the 2nd small pancake, he changed his mind! We'll keep trying at least once a year : )

| We can't say Connor's a picky eater because he loves his veggies...his favorite meal is a chef salad...he also LOVES couscous and chicken...and his favorite non-fast food place is Ruby Tuesday's in which he orders the salad bar...not too many 5 year olds enjoy veggies the way he does...but he's definitely not so keen on trying new foods...we try to implement the try at least one bite rule...but he's got a gag reflex like his Auntie Bean...and we don't want to have a situation like Clyde had with her when she was little!!! |
Scott has been cleaning out closets and came across Connor's play tent...and both kiddos loved playing in it together! And even when Connor was gone...Amelia was having a blast! She's not crawling but sure trying...she's scooting backwards for now!
