Spelling test...they have a spelling pre-test usually every Thursday, and if they get a 100%, then they don't have to take the test on Friday...and the pre-test counts as their grade as long as they do well. If not, they get the opportunity to try again on the test day. Connor and I usually do a pre-test at home every Wednesday night. Well, this week the schedule is askew because of a field trip tomorrow...so Connor got a 100% without our regular home practice session!

At the beginning of the year, they had 5 words usually in the same family such as ran, van, man etc.   Then it increased to 10 words...with similar word families.  And Connor has always been successful with his pre-tests but we've always done practice tests at home.  I have to say, this is by far the hardest list because of the limited number of similar words...and he did great!   And on top of him doing great all on his own...his handwriting this week was amazing!  I was pretty impressed how neat it was!
